The FW2 Scooter Loan Project

FW2’s scooter-loan scheme supports education, training, work, social opportunities and more

If you live in rural north Flintshire, are 16-25 years old, and find it very difficult to travel to work, education or training then FW2 may be able to loan you a scooter and offer you  extra support.

We only have a limited number of scooters available for those who need them most, but to recruit new participants to the scheme we use an application and interview system that is fair.  For more details on applying please call 01745 854881.

All of our scooters are registered, taxed, insured, serviced by the scheme, and they all have breakdown cover, a lock and tyre tester. They are loaned on 6-monthly contracts. FW2 can also help selected participants with obtaining a provisional license and protective clothing. There is also  support towards Compulsory Basic Training* (*funded by Cymorth).

Participants are asked to pay  a deposit of £100, contribute a £20 per month hire charge, cover running costs, and take responsibility for charges that may arise. There is a hire agreement to be signed, ‘ground-rules’ to observe, servicing and maintenance arrangements to make, additional project meetings, and other events and activities to get involved with.

Participants are also invited to attend and be represented at the FW2 Steering Group; this is the main forum for making decisions about the project and its development.
